7 things about Teams I wish I knew sooner

  1. Channel notifications

Something that would have been a massive timesaver from day one would be knowing that you have to manually allow for teams channels to give you notifications. It would have saved me several minutes looking through all the channels

2. Joining live chats via outlook

Every so often Ill miss the start of a lecture. After that it can take ages to find them especially since the calendar is inconsistent. Good news though by simply going on outlook it'll notify you of active chats and offer to take you to them.

3. Using files to share

By using the files system you can quite easily share slides and word documents with everyone else on that channel. Plus it gets saved meaning that you wont have to scroll through chat looking for when it was sent.

4. Camera blur and custom backgrounds

Is your room a mess? do you want to appear like you have your life in order but not actually clean up? well do I have the thing for you the blur camera option will selectively only show you and blur your background if this wont do you can also import a custom image and set it as your video background instead

5. Hovering over icons in chat shows names

If (like me) you have the memory of a goldfish you can always hover over someone's icon in a chat to see their name.

6. Show participants list

Similar to the last one but it allows you to see everyone who is in the chat and everyone who has been invited.

7.Dark and high contrast backgrounds

do you like getting flash banged every time teams opens? no? well like most sites at this point teams gives you a nice dark theme
